Are you a victim or warrior of your own life? Life often feels like a mystery. Either you surrender to the situations in your life or you take life by the horns and turn the situations in your favor. Your life takes a pivotal turn when you realize you can only control your actions, not those around you or the situations. Your reaction to external stimuli is of utmost importance. It implies how sensitive you are to your environment and how you may have to grow a thick skin like a warrior to survive.  Now, let’s delve into Victim and Warrior Mindsets and understand them in detail.

Understanding Victim Mindset

Victim Mentality is where you blame external circumstances for your life’s challenges and failures. Individuals with a victim mentality tend to self-pity, loathe, and often feel powerless in life situations and at the mercy of others. These people are not decision-makers and tend to rely on others who may make their important life decisions, which may breed resentment.

Take Charge- Embrace the Warrior Mindset

The Warrior Mindset is where individuals take ownership and change the circumstances of their lives in their favor. A warrior is disciplined, organized, and focused on what they want out of life. These people constantly work on their weaknesses and turn them into strengths; they do not shy away from putting time and effort into their life goals. Being a warrior means you will only quit once you achieve your mission.

Which Mindset Are You On- Victim or Warrior?

Mindset is a sea of beliefs that influence your thoughts, feelings, and perceptions about your life and the world around you. If you take a moment to clear your mind, you’ll realize that nothing exists beyond your mind (you can achieve this through meditation). It’s you who decides how you want to see the world or yourself for that matter.

You might have heard people say out loud, ‘This happened to me.’

People with a Victim Mindset base their feelings on things that might have happened to them in the past and live in fear of tomorrow. People holding grudges about the past condemn themselves to hopelessness, avoidance, and blame. They hold people accountable and feel that people owe them in some way. Gossiping is the ultimate form of victimhood, so next time you find yourself gossiping, take notice of what needs to be resolved within you.

In contrast, Warriors invest time honing their skills and talents to achieve their goals. They don’t sit and sulk; they have an action-oriented approach to solving the issues at hand. They strategize their action plans and adopt habits to execute them each day. You might notice that people with a Warrior Mindset are self-reliant and masters of their destiny. They don’t bend to please other people and understand that their mind is the most resourceful tool that they can utilize to make life how they want it to be.

How Can You Develop A Warrior Mindset?

A Warrior Mindset can be developed through hours of practice and discipline. However, you need to be clear with your target first and after that, you choose your weapon and lastly move in that direction each day.

It’s highly important to have a positive outlook on life and be clear about your goals. Once you are clear in your mind, you’ll find a clear road to reach them. Feeling demotivated in the journey is a sign that you are not clear with your goal. When you have a clear purpose in your mind, it’s easier to stay motivated and strive to be better than yesterday.

Time is the only resource that can never be replenished. Don’t be a victim and accept defeat. Take charge of your time because it’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
